Hey folks,

Just one month away and the forum dedicated to the Bash seems real quiet. Has the down economy effected interest and turn out? I hope not. This is my 1st Bash, and have been looking forward to it for almost a full year. Then family issues popped up and it looked like a "no go" for me. Managed to resolve those issues and back on track again. Just bought a new enclosed car trailer to insure I can keep to a tight schedule of departure and arrival back home. No award for driving the T the furthest for me. Is there car count going on somewhere on the forum?

No "Buns of Steel" award for me this year, unless you get one for (2) 1200 mile days in a comfy diesel Excursion. Looking forward to next month. Who is driving the T without trailer, and how far?

Shirley and I will in MH on Thursday until Sunday along with some others from Springfield. We're only 125 miles from MH so no long distance awards for us. The only trailer we have goes behind the bucket... not under it.

On any of the cruises, is there a stretch of long, straight, and possibly downhill part of the road with a wide opposite shoulder? The reason I ask is that the best pictures of bucket-t's in mass on public highways consist of the above scenario, with the photographer using a long focal lenght lens to compress all the cars. This will help the cars in the back being more than just a speck in the picture. A couple of examples of long lens compressing the background.

This one was only a moderate focal lenght because not only was the road far from smooth, but the photographer was needing to drive a stick shift bucket.

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff452/deckofficer/2010%20Freds%20Fun%20Run/DSC012771014x760.jpg

This shot was again a long lens so that the Ford, Chevy, and Mopar engines could be seen.

http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff452/deckofficer/2010%20Freds%20Fun%20Run/DSC012711014x760.jpg

This is also a long lens for two reasons, one, I'm not a fan of being as close as the picture suggests during a dyno pull, and 2nd, the mountains in the background appear to be much closer than what they were.

Yes there are some downhills and long stretch's in some of the cruises with some turns that will get some good shots.

You're just trying to make this too much fun Rick. I suppose they'll be having valve cover races this year. Guess I'd better get started building one.

Do you know about what time the Thursday cruise to the ferry will get back to MH? I need to let Britterbug know what time I'll be there to pick her up. I'm going to Evening Shade right after the cruise. Anyone who wants some extra cruise time is welcome to cruise down with me.

Down to 5 hr, 40 minutes to departure and still doing last minute stuff. The very first trip with the new trailer that was delivered, flat tire in 3 miles, pumped it up, dropped off tractor I was hauling, headed to tire shop. After flat repair, heading down hwy 50 in the curves at 65, and next thing I know the trailer came unhitched, then some wrenching on the T, compression 175 across the board. Tightened all the bolts, fresh oil, filter, and plugs. Same plugs from the rebuild, so was curious how they looked after 8000 miles. Only one a bit dark, all others, that good "ash" color and intact electrodes.

Rick hosted desert at his home. Front yard could accomadate all the Ts, leaving the drive through open. Large mountain cabin designed home that he built, amazing wood work and he and the kids sure have THE game room downstairs, referred to as the "Coco-cola" room.
